Jones Report -- A Six Point Plan To Help Resolve the Covid 19 Pandemic Crisis (Safely and Effectively)

 SPECIAL JONES REPORT

 This report highlights the basic steps to resolve the Covid -19 Pandemic crisis. I have examined the progress thus far in addressing the pandemic.  For the point of expediency, I will cover each topic as succinctly as I can.  The reader is encouraged to do their  own research to study the facts as I present them. The ultimate answer to Covid 19 and the recent mutant is a viable vaccine.

There are several vaccine candidates in clinical trials being fostered by the Trump Operation Warp Speed (OWS)  team.  Each has some attributes the merit further research. Also, not widely publicized are FDA hurdles in current candidates in the safety profile that must be passed.  Some experts are doubtful that Moderna and Pfizer versions will pass the Adverse effects  phase.  However, there is one vaccine made by Inovio Pharmaceuticals that has already had success against a similar Corona virus called MERS with INO4700. It did not make it to market because the economic advantage was not there after MERS faded. However Covid 19 is not fading. INO4800 has a very similar profile and is expected by Inovio to be equally safe and effective.  Indeed, the DoD through the Pentagon has already purchased $71 Million worth of  " Cellectra" devices used in the " electroportation" to easily administer the INO4800 vaccine to the US Military. Further, the DoD has arranged for a private  Plasmid company, Ology, to work with Inovio to produce INO4800 for clinical trials.  Inovio is currently in a Phase 1 trial and recently expanded it to include senior citizens, the highest "at risk" population.

The study of this report has forced me to come to one conclusion. In order to address the global Covid 19 pandemic, immediate steps are required to  advance Inovio's INO4800 vaccine beyond the initial steps taken by the Pentagon for just the US Military.  These steps are as follows:

 1. Immediate funding by OWS to Inovio Pharmaceuticals to lead the imminent next phase 2/3 clinical trials to advance INO4800 in America and the rest of the world.

 2. Inovio and DNA Plasmid manufacture, VGXI, to settle disputes by the following proposal arrangement.  VGXI is on track to expand their US facilities to mass produce DNA plasmids such as INO4800. Their web site expresses a willingness to continue to work with Inovio.  Part of the law suit involves the Inovio DoD contract with Ology.  This proposal is to have parties agree to the following  and drop all court cases:

3. Inovio/ Ology -  Provides INO 4800 to the Pentagon and US military as the current contract states. Inovio provides Cellectras as purchased via the DoD.

4.  Inovio/ VGXI - Provides INO4800 to the general US population as needed. It would be imperative that VGXI expand their planned facilities faster that currently planned. It is noted that VGXI is a subsidiary of the parent company, Geneone Life science Company in South Korea.

5.  Inovio/ Geneone Life science  - Provides INO 4800 for Asia. all of  Asia that wants it.

6. Inovio/ Richter Helm -  Provides INO 4800 for all of Europe that requests it.

This plan assumes that all parties above will agree and work as ONE cohesive unit led by Inovio Pharmaceuticals. Where there are shortfalls in one plan, the others will help. 

 Conclusion:

Covid 19 and the more recent mutant version is not waiting.  Time is of the essence. I urge responsible parties above to consider such a plan, modify as needed and start executing soon. This is an example of a plan and can be modified and expanded as needed to meet the global demand for a safe and effective vaccine that strong evidence is pointing to Inovio's INO4800.

- INO-4800 showed durable antibody and T cell responses in rhesus macaques for 4 months
- INO-4800 is the only vaccine to demonstrate long-term protection in non-human primates challenged with SARS-CoV-2 virus 13 weeks from vaccination

- INO-4800 vaccination generated antibodies neutralizing both the earlier strain of virus as well as the mutant variant (D614G) that has emerged with greater infectivity, and now accounts for >80% of newly circulating virus
- No antibody-dependent enhanced disease events were reported

On being Possibly Technically Correct BUT Wrong from a market sense view...

The other day I opined in 
a post  about trying to
swing trade or staying long.
 
Sometimes when things don't
feel right with a stock,
it pays to be nimble. Other
times, it can backfire.

Today, we see Moderna being
awarded another nearly half
billion dollars by Barda on
so called positive Phase 1
results.

I am not a believer in
Moderna's messenger rna 
vaccine as there are
Adverse effects, the need
for super cold storage, and
the way they make the
constructs.

I do suspect and believe
that Inovio's DNA vaccine
candidate INO4800 will be 
proven superior.

However, this is a situation
where being possibly
technically correct may hurt
financially if in too much
INO, in the near term with
continued silence.

The PR silence of Inovio
while they apparently await
"peer review" results is NOT 
playing well in the recent
market.

I have said "some" in INO
may pay off long term. BUT
in the near term, with
continued PR silence
by Inovio?

I think I have portrayed
my concern here on INO.

The best kept " Secret" of the Corona vaccine race? Inovio Pharmaceuticals (INO)

I awoke this morning with a 
notion that the proverbial
market may be missing
something in the science of
immunology. From a market
sense, also missing the
implications of this
"secret".

Why can some people be
exposed to a potentially
deadly pathogen and hardly
get a sniffle? But, they
can transport the virus
and be carriers like
the typhoid Mary's of the 
past.  While others that
are infected land up in a
hospital bed on a
respirator, if they are
lucky? Why are some prone
to cancer and other's
not? How can some people
smoke all day and night
of toxic laden cigarettes
and not come down with lung
cancer whereas some
that don't even smoke do?
(I don't recommend chancing
that!)

One answer is GENETICS! 

It's in the DNA.

Getting back to "the market",
I suspect that what seems to
be "a secret" is starting to
catch on. The secret science
is nearing a peer review of
the  Phase 1 clinical
trial against Covid 19. 

In the meantime, the
Pentagon has quietly locked
up the ordering of $71
Million worth of devices
to deliver DNA based
vaccine doses developed by 
Inovio Pharmaceuticals (INO).
To Who?  The one's that
protect America - The US
military.

Swing trade or stay long (and risk loss)?

Today, I will briefly state
a fundamental principal of
the stock market. 

 Buy Low
 Sell Higher.

When a Company you "believe"
has potential, but does
not prove it or act like it
and the short sellers are
all about bashing it-
it may be time to rethink
your strategy. If there is
a gain to be had, sometimes
it's best to trade all or
part of the stock in
question and take the gain!
Or sometimes cut the loss
and move on. Sometimes, you may 
have too large of a position
and have to trim shares.

Pulling the sell trigger
is not easy. But losing
money is worse and winning
is much better. I trimmed
some shares on Inovio today.
I was losing perspective on 
the reward/ risk profile.

Inovio reports a Positive PR on Phase1, But ... always a BUT .

Today Inovio Pharmaceuticals (INO) reported

a PR on results of Phase 1 testing. At

first glance, the report looked favorable.

However, the market is selling off INO as

of this writing, mid day, being whipsawed

down.

Barron's had a pretty good explanation.

Inovio did not share specific info on

neutralizing antibodies.

Barron's noted that 5 out 8 analysts

that cover Inovio rate it as a HOLD.

However after seeing it double and

enjoying an adversity filled ride,

today's drop and whipsaw is

disheartening as a shareholder in some

INO.

That's it, I took a gain on half my

shares.  It sucks to be a bag holder 

and I have FOMO about that too! 

I will watch INO and hold my remaining

half position. Today, Inovio became a

trading stock to me. Whipsaws do that!

 WHY?

Because if Inovio shared neutralizing 

antibody data with the government but

not to shareholders?

  - that seems a backhanded slap.

  - and if they did not and are holding 

    back info   

 why? 

So it just got more dicey. I still like INO,

and holding half for now.

half are free shares to those who

bought the 13's here. 

INO still has some "future dots". 

namely  "future funding"  and pipeline 

 -  maybe. 

On another trade, I bought back some 

Vaxart (VXRT ) just some. An oral vaccine

being tested in monkeys may find traction

maybe some good juju.

like my reasoning?  we'll see.

I tried to be a long on INO but they

kind of let me down on the lack of

full data on neutralizing  antibody data.

In closing.... 

 I am STILL HOLDING INO, just not as much.

 I need to remember ...

    - there is always "a BUT" 

    - and something always happens! 

 celebrate a gain if ya got it.

The market wants so bad to recover, but the

corona pandemic still looms.  The young people

are acting like the threat is over. I get it.

They've been cooped up months, summer is here

and hormones rage. And they don't wear masks.

However, the Covid 19 cases among the young

are spiking.  Only a matter of time before

they pass it on to more of the vulnerable.

More hospitals could fill and more deaths.

This is why the Federal government is racing

for a vaccine.  I don't like being dramatic.

However, Covid 19 has crippled the entire

world!

Today, I will focus on FOMO, or "Fear of

missing out". Last week, Vaxart, Inc (VXRT}

announced selection into the government's

Operation Warp speed as a study candidate for

the only oral vaccine. It's being called a

"challenge candidate" . I have not seen

specific funding amounts in such monkey

studies. However, monkey studies are not

Phased Clinical trials as established by

the FDA.

As a result of the announcement VXRT rose in

share price from the $4 per share range

to as high the $13 range fora brief while.

Vaxart is a small company. I traded that swing

on "some". I sold on the basis of a quick

decision, that an oral vaccine succeeding 

for preventing Covid 19, seems like a long 

shot. I wonder if stomach acid may

deteriorate active compounds. However, I 

am starting to rethink that snap opinion.

what if they come up with something to

dissolve under the tongue? Or, designed to

dissolve in the intestine? 

well, that is pure speculation at this

point in my analysis. I'll leave the door

open that they may make progress.

In time?  that would be the question. 

It seems the purpose of a challenge study 

is try to answer the  question -- why not?

So the VXRT shares "skyrocked" on the news.

Do I believe the oral vaccine will succeed

or if so, make it to market before others?

My view is it has a long road ahead to prove.

But the notion of an easy to use oral pill to

protect against Covid 19  has a lot of appeal.

Will the market take VXRT to higher valuations,

maybe on FOMO ?

VXRT bears watching as a possible trade, but I

remain doubtful of it making an oral vaccine

pill to market by testing on monkeys. It does

seem like a backup plan that operation warp

speed thinkers are taking.

Always good to have a backup plan I guess. 

Will I trade VXRT again?  watching and maybe.

I am holding INO in the vaccine space, waiting

on Phase 1 trial results.
