Stock Talk
Here are some "hot" stock symbols that look to be in the right sectors to possibly grow in the new era of the "golden age" that President Trump has inspired:
Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc.(KTOS)
In addition to the recent $1.4 B prime contract in the highly needed hypersonic test bed, KTOS just landed an expanded $38.4 M contract involving integrating XQ-58A Valkyrie drones into the jet fighter task force. KTOS is moving up on the Jones report conviction list. The view here is KTOS has room for higher share levels into the 40's and 50's.
"SAN DIEGO, Jan. 21, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: KTOS), a Technology Company in Defense, National Security and Global Markets, announced today a $34,856,449 award modification to a previously awarded cost-plus-fixed-fee contract from the U.S. Marine Corps. The expanded scope is to support the XQ-58A Unmanned Aerial Systems mission systems and subsystems integration for the Marine Air-Ground Task Force Unmanned Aerial System Expeditionary (MUX) Tactical Aircraft (TACAIR)."

Rocket Lab USA, Inc. (RKLB)
3D printing of rockets and engine components. There was a blurb on a recent mission where a RKLB carried a test payload into orbit where a test capsule is capable of re-entry at hypersonic re-entry.
"Like the first Pioneer spacecraft for Varda, the W-2 Pioneer is delivering critical mission functions for Varda’s 120kg capsule including power, communications, propulsion, and attitude control. Following the payload processing phase in orbit, Rocket Lab’s spacecraft will guide and position Varda’s capsule for deorbit, enabling a hypersonic re-entry and recovery at the Koonibba Test Range in South Australia, operated by Southern Launch.
The Pioneer spacecraft was designed, built, and tested at Rocket Lab’s Spacecraft Production Complex and headquarters in Long Beach, California. It integrates Rocket Lab’s vertically developed components and systems, including star trackers, propulsion systems, reaction wheels, solar panels, flight software, radios, composite structures, tanks, separation systems, and more."
As a note - RKLB's finances still lack earnings. KTOS seems to be the long stock with momentum to continue a steady rise. At same time, RKLB is capturing intense market interest. The Jones report wonders if the above report in bold is catching on as a possible defensive way to counter growing hypersonic threats from our adversaries. We've been behind for way too long.
Micron Technology, Inc. (MU)
President Trump with Larry Ellison from Oracle and others announced a half $ trillion investment in "Stargate" AI data centers . These data centers will need memory, memory, memory for advanced AI functions. MU is in the sweet spot to supply the memory chips needed to work in tandem with the AI processors to power the future. MU is seen as undervalued by several analysts and pundits alike. The recent notion that the PC sector has been sluggish, is being overcome by the coming need for DRAM at growing need for AI data centers. MU may well see higher share price in a growing AI climate. Short term traders may take a look at a 2X bull tracking issue of MU with symbol MULL. But it requires nimble watching, not too much vested, and a trading mindset to lock in gains and cut losses. MULL is about $22, whereas MU is about $109. MULL is more of a daytrader issue on an MU bull run and a -get the heck out- on a bear swing.
D-Wave Quantum Inc. (QBTS)
Here at the Jones report, we've highlighted several quantum computing stocks. This has been a rewarding trade but is also a highly volatile sector with critics and shorts attacking the credence of the sector. Some have not yet sufficiently answered the short's claims. The sector may be tradable - but "Jack be nimble with just some". QBTS seems to have potential with a growing customer base using quantum services to help solve complex problems.
Kinross Gold Corporation (KGC) : Gold miner in Canada and Americas with steady earnings and a divy too.
Permian Resources Corporation (PR): looking forward to easing natural gas restrictions. Oil and Natural gas co in the Permian basin of America. Drill baby drill staying the course. Britain is running low of natural gas reserves!
MO
: - paid the dividend. It typically fades back some after the divy but
as the next dividend date approaches, the stock may trend higher as long
as earnings continue steady. MO offers an 8.02% dividend at the
current sp of $50.85. MO is worthy of holding "some" MO for "mo".
As a speculation note -- One penny spec stock to watch, under a buck a share: ---- ONCY - Pancreatic
cancer trial approved to expand. stay tuned for more to come on a
novel combination approach to tackle it. A poster presentation is planned at ASCO on January 24. Perhaps some ONCY - but "not too much". Under a buck, it remains a pure speculation but many still are pondering - "what if".

Another spec stock, BBAI , may have room as the AI sector grows but the lack of earnings remains a concern.
... and Maintain dry powder for opportune times.
If you dare ... Stay tuned as the world turns and ... aware ...
Pray for the new administration that President Trump brings to America and may God Bless America to be made great again with insightful and humane leadership with liberty and justice for all.
For now, we close by noting that any view on the market and stocks on any particular day may change in the future days to come. That is why we watch and see how our views match up with the reality of the time. But trying to look ahead a few months into the future may be a way to do things. If you think too deep about world events and the recent alliances forming, projecting ahead can be a dicey endeavor. In all - we use the word maybe "some", not "too much" and play it accordingly. Remember, never get arrogant in our various notions because things do change in the market and individual stocks are subject to many factors outside of our control.. So we try to -stay aware.
With all the above caveats and attempted prognostications, I will close this post. Stay tuned for more opining on the market and stocks to watch.
